Germany, Germany, I love you! ♥
So they defeated Argentina 4-0 in today's match. Didn't expect the Argentinians to concede defeat without scoring any goals, but there you are.
Now I'm hoping for Germany to be the champions this year. Somebody please beat up the Spaniards. But it's hard to say; most of the favourites are already out - England, France, Italy, Portugal, Brazil.
Oh btw, I absolutely love the German goalkeeper. He's totally awesome, the way he saves goals and hugs the ball.

Germany Shoots At Thin Air OR A (S)Pain in the Ass
Damnit. I expected a tie, at least. Or if not a tie, then Germany getting that single goal, not Es-freakin'-paña. Sorry if that offended anyone. I'm just feeling a trifle vindictive towards Spain at the moment. It'll pass - I hope.
So anyway, I was already kinda ticked off about the live broadcast time even before the match started. I wonder who is the smartypants who scheduled the program as 1.45 a.m. when it was clearly starting at 2.30 a.m. Thanks very much for depriving me of a short nap and making me go through all those stupid playbacks of previous matches and the commentators' incessant babbling... NOT!
Did I mention I was in a vindictive mode just now? I did? Well, I don't like the Spanish team that much, but then, I don't think the German team did that well either in today's final. In the first 30 minutes they were totally going at it and doing their best. But then Torres did his thing and kicked a ball into the net, and you could practically see the Germans deflating. Except maybe for Ballack. Now that guy's one helluva a footballer.
Still, I don't think Coach Löw should have taken Philip Lahm and Miroslav Klose out of the field. I mean, if they were actually in the game in the 2nd half, Germany might still have a chance at scoring a goal. Heck, I'd understand if they pulled out Ballack (that bleeding eye looked pretty bad) but why those two?!
Oh well. Looks like I'll just have to wait for the next World Cup!
